THE OWNERS

Derek Bertelsen - Executive Director
Derek Bertelsen is a graduate of Millikin University where he received his BFA in Theatre/Directing. He's excited to be back in the Quad City area. Previous Green Room directing credits include: Into the Woods, The Glass Menagerie, Carousel, Fully Committed, Eleemosynary and the staged reading of Rhapsody to the Other Side. Other directing credits include: Ragtime and The Secret Garden (both Children's Therapy Center benefits at the Galvin Fine Arts Center) and Evening Primrose and "The Bremen Town Musicians" at Millikin and James and the Giant Peach at Davenport Junior Theatre. As a writer, his original musical Honest Abe! has been performed in Springfield, Chicago and tours regionally with The Little Theatre on the Square, Sullivan IL. He thanks the QC community for supporting live theatre!


Tyson Danner - Artistic Director
Tyson Danner most recently acted as music director of The Green Room's Assassins. Other credits as music director include The Secret Garden, Ragtime, john & jen, Into the Woods, Carousel and A Year with Frog & Toad. As director, he has helmed productions of john & jen and Jerry Finnegan's Sister, and will return to the director's chair this season for Songs for a New World, Doubt and Hair. He has composed music for The Glass Menagerie and has appeared onstage in the Quad Cities in such shows as Damn Yankees, State Fair, Urinetown and Aida. This fall, he will perform the role of Louis in The Green Room's upcoming Angels in America. Tyson teaches private voice lessons and works as Director of Music at St. John's United Methodist Church and The Unitarian Church, both in Davenport. He holds a B.A. in Music from St. Ambrose University.
